Welcome to the Office of the City of Caldwell Purchasing Department. This office provides purchasing services for all departments within the City government. By utilizing a single source for purchasing, the City is able to purchase using the greatest possible cost savings through price and product comparisons done by the Purchasing Department. The primary goal of the Purchasing Department is to provide this service in a timely and efficient manner.
Another important service provided by the Purchasing Department is to keep City departments informed about state surplus supplies and equipment that could be of use for current or future projects. By providing this service the Purchasing Department provides a purchasing option that could save the City funds that would otherwise be spent if those items were purchased elsewhere.
The Purchasing Department is also responsible for promoting the bi-annual auctions held by the City each year which is the primary way the City of Caldwell is required to dispose of aging, “end of life” and/or surplus property.
