CHIEF CHRIS ALLGOOD
Chief Chris Allgood grew up in the Treasure Valley, attending Gem State Academy in Caldwell. He was hired at the Caldwell Police Department in 1985, and stayed in the patrol division until 1991. At that time, he was moved to the detective division where he worked numerous different assignments including: fraud, major crimes, and crime against children. Chief Allgood also served as a School Resource Officer (SRO). In 1997, he was promoted to sergeant and moved back to patrol. Before being promoted to captain in 2002, and chief in 2007, he served as a Field Training Officer and also served twelve years on the SWAT team. Chief Allgood holds several certificates from POST (Police Officer Standards and Training), including an advanced officer certificate, a supervisor’s certificate and a management certificate. In addition to his police education, he also earned a Bachelor’s degree in leadership and management from George Fox University and graduated from Northwestern University’s school of Police Staff and Command. Chief Allgood’s pro-active community policing and hands on approach has been an asset to both the police department and the community as a whole. Since becoming chief, several community projects have been put into place so that the police department can better serve its citizens. The department’s core values, “Honor, Courage, Commitment”, was adopted by employees of the Caldwell Police Department. The chief has been diligent in encouraging and supporting his officers to live up to high standards. This ideology has been beneficial to different groups within the community, allowing the police department and citizens to work together to reach the common goal of making Caldwell one of the best and safest places to live in Idaho. Chief Allgood is happily married and lives in Caldwell, where he proudly raises his two children.
