Restoration of the Depot began in 2002 with state and federal grants plus donations from businesses and private individuals. The new Train Depot Interpretative Center opened in 2008 and its purpose is to educate school children and the public on the important role transportation played in the formation of Caldwel. The Center includes memorabilia and photos representing the vast and storied history of the west Treasure Valley and Caldwell.  

The historic Caldwell Train Depot and Interpretative Center is available for rental for special occasions and large group gatherings.
