Records / Services

Records and Services personnel have a wide variety of duties (listed under Quick Find on this page) and spend much of their time processing hundreds of documents. This Division tracks the police department statistical information that is sent to the state computer system and then to the national bureau. These employees are also responsible for greeting the public and answering the incoming telephone calls. The Community Service Officers are an integral part of the Police Department. The CSO's relieve sworn personnel of duties that do not require arrest powers and receive extensive training or certifications to perform certain law enforcement tasks. Some of the duties delegated to the CSO's are: Property and Evidence, Victim Witness Coordination, Crime Analysis, and Crime Prevention. Each of these and many other programs and tasks are explained throughout the web site.
