 Jim Blacker |
Jim is a Caldwell native and graduated from Caldwell High School. He went on to earn a degree in business from Brigham Young University. Jim owned and operated Blacker Appliance and Furniture (later changed to Ashley Furniture Homestore) and is the past national president of Brand Source (a member owned and member run buying group with over 2600 members nationally).
Jim has extensive experience with city government, having served on the Planning and Zoning Commission, Library Board, Friends of the Deport Board, and the Canyon/Caldwell Economic Development Board. He has served on the City Council since June of 2002 and is currently serving as Council President.
He is active in church activities, volunteers for various organizations and has donated his time as scoutmaster and committee chairman for the Boy Scouts. He volunteers his time to various organizations, including the Caldwell School District, College of Idaho, and Rotary Club.
Jim has been married to his wife Sheri for 42 years, has 6 children, and 24 grandchildren. All of Jim’s children attended Caldwell schools and two of his children and their families live in Caldwell today.

 Rob Hopper |
Rob was born in Portland, Oregon and moved to Caldwell at the age of 10. Most of Rob’s family were early settlers and residents of Caldwell and its surrounding communities. Rob’s great-grandfather was an early mayor of Caldwell and his father served on the Caldwell City Council in the ‘70’s. Rob attended the College of Idaho, Boise State University and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland. Rob has lived in Caldwell for nearly his entire life and grew up farming in the Nampa-Caldwell area. He is an Information Technology manager for Hewlett-Packard, based in Boise.
Rob has been active in a number of community activities including the Idaho Youth Games and has served as a trustee for the Caldwell School District. His interest in serving the City of Caldwell stems from his belief that community resources play a crucial role in the development and success of young people. Rob has been married to his wife, Jackie, for more than 25 years and they have two sons and a daughter at home in Caldwell.

 Dennis Callsen |
Dennis was born and raised in the City of Caldwell. He graduated from Caldwell High School, and then went on to pursue a career in firefighting. Dennis worked as a Caldwell firefighter for 26 years and continued training throughout his career. He now works for I/D/E/A.
Dennis served on the Caldwell Planning and Zoning Commission for two years and has served on the Caldwell City Council for six years. Past committees he has served on include the Library Board and the Core Area Design Committee.
Dennis has three children, and five grandchildren. Through his service on the City Council, he hopes to make Caldwell a better place for his grandchildren and future generations.

 Jim Dakan |
Jim was raised in Caldwell and graduated from Caldwell High School. He served four years in the United States Navy, and then went on to graduate from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. Jim has worked and owned the Dakan Chapel in Caldwell for over 33 years.
He has served 12 years on the Caldwell City Council and served four years as Mayor of Caldwell. Jim has been married to his wife Betty for 42 years and they have three children and four grandchildren.
Jim has served on the Shrine Hospital for Children in Portland, Oregon, and was the past president of the Caldwell Lions Club, the Rotary Club, and the Shrine Club. He was the Potentate of El Korah Shriners and was President of The Pacific North West Shrine Association in 1988.

 Rob Oates |
Rob Oates was elected to the Caldwell City Council in November 2003. He and his wife, Debbie, have three children. Rob is a fifth generation Idahoan, was raised in Caldwell and graduated from Caldwell High in 1974. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business Management from the University of Idaho in 1978. At graduation Rob was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Army and served as a tank officer and helicopter weapons test pilot and project engineer for the next ten years, leaving the service as a Major. After working in technology jobs in several cities in the East, Rob moved his family to Caldwell in 1997. He was a senior systems analyst for Sears in the Boise Technology Center for five years and has been a contract technical trainer and web application developer.
Rob has been involved in the community serving several terms as President of the Caldwell Band Boosters. He was the Data Manager for the Idaho Women's Fitness Celebration for six years and an Elder in Caldwell's Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church. Rob is also the State Chair for the Libertarian Party of Idaho.

 Bob Sobba |
Bob was elected to the Caldwell City Council in 2007 after a 36 year career in law enforcement in the Treasure Valley. During his work in law enforcement, Bob served as the director of the Idaho Department of Law Enforcement and served eighteen years as Caldwell’s Chief of Police, retiring in 2007. He also wrote a history of the Caldwell Police Department and is active in the Veterans History Project.
Bob graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Social Science and went on to gradate from the FBI National Academy. He also has a Masters Degree in Management and Administration.
Bob participates in numerous community projects including Kiwanis, Meals on Wheels and Chamber of Commerce Committees. He is currently working on a Truancy Project with the Caldwell and Vallivue School Districts.
He enjoys outdoor activities such hunting, fishing, camping and race walking. Bob has been married to his wife Cheryl, a local Nurse Practitioner for 35 years and they have two grown daughters.
