Swimming Lessons


Course Descriptions

All classes offered through the Caldwell Pool are Red Cross certified classes. The first four sessions of the summer are one half hour classes held Monday -Friday for two weeks. (Level VI class runs for 1 hour). The fifth session will be held for one week; one hour classes Monday – Friday. Children as young as 6 months through 3 years may enroll in a “Mommy and Me” program. This class requires a parent or adult to be in the water with the child. Levels Preschool (age 3+) through Level III will have a maximum of 6 students. Levels IV and V will have 8 students and Level VI will have 10 students.

IPAP - Infant and Preschool Aquatics Program (6 Months – 36 Months)

Preschool (3 – 5 years)

Level 1: Water Exploration

Level 2: Primary Skills

Level 3: Stroke Development

Level 4: Stroke Improvement

Level 5: Stroke Refinement

Level 6: Skill Proficiency

Enrollment Information

Walk-in and mail-in registration will begin the month prior to class starting. All registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Please note the following registration dates:

June classes: Register
July classes: Register
August classes: Register


Swim lesson registration will not be offered through the internet.

Click here to view a copy of the Swim Lessons Registration Form. The form can be filled out then printed or printed and filled out by hand. After completing the registration form it can either be mailed in or brought to the Parks & Recreation Office see form for address.

For all mail-in registration, please include session date, time and level needed. Mail received before the registration dates will be returned. Mail-in registrations will be processed after the first walk-in registration date. No changes or refunds will be issued once child is enrolled; see Refund Policy below for more information.

Daycare Enrollments

Daycare centers will be allowed to register students on the Wednesday following registration opening date, from 9:00 – 12:00 AM. Please know exact level of each child. There will be a maximum of 15 students per session.


Refund Policy

A total refund will be given with notice prior to class starting for injury or illness which prevents the child from entering the water.

Refunds will not be given:
  • If parent enrolls child in wrong class
  • If unscheduled event prevents child from attending
  • Because of weather
